Important To-Do’s For the Week of Your Wedding

You may be a week away from finally saying, “I do,” trust us; we know you are definitely ready. However, with just seven days to go, there are seemingly small but other important tasks that need checking off your list so they do not fall through cracks. Even if you sign and seal your floral contract, you will need to make sure that the flowers finally reach the venue.

You definitely want your altar to be ready for your groom the glass and finally realize that there is no glass at all right. Before your wedding, it is important that you consult your wedding planners, keep a check on everything to ensure everything works out well for you.

Here is our take at the important to-dos for the week of your wedding.

Over-communicate with Your Vendors

To ensure everyone and everything are on the same page (so you do not have to make additional changes before time), call every single vendor to confirm, re-confirm and make arrangements you have with them, including:

•          Giving the caterer a final head count for the reception. Contact other vendors including photographer, band members, and others to confirm their schedule for the day of your wedding. You can also guide your caterers on the number of extra plates your event will need.
•          Supply the manager of the location with a complete list of all the vendor requests including setup times, vendor delivery and contact numbers.
•          Also, supply the venue manager with the list of your vendor requests, including a table for the DJ and the setup place needed by the florist.
•          Call your car rental services for the pickup of your close relatives for the wedding location.

Designate Your Various People

When it’s time for your wedding, you don’t want your caterer calling to call you close to your makeup time. To avoid such unexpected calls, you should designate your family and friends to help you handle such situations. You can ask your family members to work your wedding vendors to organize things on the table, such as the glasses, floral decorations, and make sure all the attendees have items they need ready when they arrive.   

You can ask someone (usually parents) to write checks and attend to final balances that need payment at the end of the reception. You can introduce your reception manager to your family to help you attend to details during the reception. You should provide your wedding professionals with emergency phone numbers on the day of the wedding, usually your planner, bridesmaid or maid of honor.
